Blend and Origin
Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Blanc 2008
Pinot noir (92%) and chardonnay (8%) from six grand cru vineyards – Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, Verzenay and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger – make up this vintage. A cool and rainy spring and a cool, dry summer created grapes with a remarkable acidity that recalled other extraordinary vintages from the maison. Aged for 10 years, it has a complexity that will develop further in time.
Pair with white meats and seafood
Start with a light seabass crudo or fresh raw oysters.
Poached chicken served with a sesame dressing and crunchy Asian greens makes an excellent accompaniment.
