  • Product Details

At the heart of Newton Vineyard is the belief that to produce remarkable wines one has to work in harmony with the environment. This naturally balanced, refreshing chardonnay captures that ideal perfectly. Bottling wine without filtration is one of the ways in which Newton Vineyard ensures its fruit reaches its full expression. In the 2014, this means a pleasingly rich texture, elegant balance and complex flavors.

    Newton Vineyard Unfiltered Chardonnay 2014

This chardonnay is sourced primarily from the Carneros region of California, where the proximity of San Pablo Bay infuses the vines with cool marine influences. The 2014 season was marked by warm and dry conditions, yielding ripe and refined fruits that were then barrel fermented using indigenous yeasts and aged a further 12 months in French oak barrels (30% new).

Food pairing:
Complex flavors complement indulgent dishes

Starter

The depth of this wine makes it a perfect match with full-flavored seafood. To start, try dressed crab, lobster or salmon tartare.

Main

While many think of chardonnay as a wine best suited to fish or poultry, experiment with the unexpected, such as grilled veal chop or pork tenderloin. It also complements mushrooms – try risotto with chanterelles and shiitakes.
