Blend and Origin
Newton Vineyard Skyside Chardonnay 2016
A blend of chardonnay grapes from cool Sonoma County's AVAs of Knights Valley, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Dry Creek Valley. In order to balance richness and freshness, the wine is partly barrel- and tank-fermentated. Tanks and barrels receive weekly battonage to build complexity and roundness. The wine then matured 7 months in oak barrel (22% new).
More to try
Truly versatile when it comes to food
Full-bodied and fabulous, this wine can take on many flavors and textures.
This chardonnay's full body and the oak allow it to stand up even to tricky matches, such as broiled artichoke and roasted vegetable starters.
The fruitiness and full-on flavor marry particularly well with barbecued shrimp and the sweet spices from chinese chicken salad.
And when it comes to soft cheese, there's no need to pull out a red; this vibrant white will cover all bases.
