Product DetailsDeeply complex and aromatic, this richly textured Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon – with a touch of cabernet franc – will certainly reveal a new character in the years to come. Newton Vineyard’s Spring Mountain vines, grown at altitude between 500 and 1,600 feet, are perfectly suited for growing cabernet sauvignon, and the harvest of 2015 yielded excellent grapes.

Blend and Origin
Newton Vineyard Single Vineyard Spring Mountain District 2015
A cool and damp spring resulted in significantly low yields in 2015, but the fruit – grown in diverse soil on 25-year-old vines – was of outstanding quality. This blend of cabernet sauvignon (90%) and cabernet franc (10%) was fermented in separate batches and barrel aged for 12 months, before being blended and matured further to develop a deep complexity.
A classic preparation
Lamb shanks, braised with red wine, carrots, celery, mushrooms, tomatoes and herbs, will find an excellent balance with this wine’s complex flavors.
