Moët & Chandon
In keeping with its credo to “share the magic of champagne in the world,” Moët & Chandon creates elegant and approachable sparkling wines that encapsulate the vineyards of Champagne. Today the maison’s champagnes are among the most loved in the world.
A long-lasting legacy
The Moët maison was founded by wine trader Claude Moët in 1743, but it was his grandson, Jean-Rémy, who, together with Pierre-Gabriel Chandon, built the maison’s reputation. They released the first Moët vintage in 1840, and in 1869 the now-acclaimed Brut Impérial label was born.
Champagne’s most extensive estate
Moët & Chandon grows pinot noir, meunier and chardonnay grapes on 2,800 acres of land in the five main areas of the Champagne region, half of which are grands crus. This unparalleled asset allows the maison to select the best grapes to make each cuvée.
Mastering the art of making champagne
Led by Cellar Master Benoît Gouez, Moët & Chandon winemakers are meticulous, gently pressing grapes to ensure only the purest juice is extracted to produce a clean, crisp and fruity wine. Champagnes are then aged for twice as long as the legal minimum to add complexity and depth.
