Blend and Origin
Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2017
The grapes for this blend of 61% sauvignon blanc and 39% semillon come from the southern half of the Margaret River region. Following a long, slow ripening period, they displayed delicate aromas, low alcohol levels and a lively acidity, and to preserve this freshness, the grapes were harvested at night and in the early morning while it was cool. Extended fermentation in stainless steel, with 2% in oak, maintains the fruit’s character while adding complexity.
