    Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

    The grapes for this wine were grown in the estate’s finest parcels, with the classic gravel terroir strongly influenced by the nearby Indian Ocean. Margaret River reported one of the warmest vintages on record in 2014, and this 85% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot reflects the long, warm ripening season. The exceptionally beautiful grapes displayed mature tannins and bright flavours, and individual batches were gently pressed before fermentation on their skins for up to 30 days. The wine was then matured in French oak (70% new) for between 18 and 20 months.
