Terrazas de los Andes combines French heritage with Argentinian passion to craft wines of unrivaled quality.
Terrazas de los Andes crafts wines with aromatic complexity and flavour. Four classic varietals – malbec, cabernet sauvignon, torrontés and chardonnay – create the estate’s blends, with the grapes thriving in the winery’s high-altitude terroir.
Named after the terraced plateaus at the foot of the Andes, Terrazas de los Andes was founded in 1996 but has a rich heritage. A Spanish-style winery was built by Sotero Arizu, one of the forefathers of Argentine winemaking, in 1898, while some estate vines date from 1929.
At Terrazas de los Andes, the focus is on the vineyards and the grapes. Harnessing the diversity of climates and soils in the region, there is minimum intervention by winemakers, which allows the grapes to reach their full expression, resulting in refined wines.
The estate’s eight vineyards in the Uco Valley and Lujan de Cajon range in altitude from 980-1,200 metres, with conditions ideal for malbec, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. Further north, in Cafayate, Salta, which is 1,800 metres above sea level, torrontés thrives.
