Combining creativity with a purist approach to winemaking, Newton Vineyard is among the most prestigious estates in Napa Valley.
Working in harmony with nature and adopting a purist approach to winemaking, Newton Vineyard is defined by its fine unfiltered range and its new single-vineyard wines, made from three unique terroirs in Napa Valley.
In 1977, Dr Su Hua and Peter Newton had a vision to transform a hillside into a 226-hectare estate. Newton Vineyard soon became a Napa Valley trailblazer, renowned for launching Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay, one of the first unfiltered wines to be produced and sold in the US.
Newton Vineyard grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in small batches. There is minimal intervention, and fermentation occurs naturally to protect the characteristics of the fruit and to enhance the final blend’s complexity and vibrancy.
Across 48 hectares, 112 vineyard blocks are planted at different elevations. Each has a different grape varietal, soil type, sun exposure and microclimate – this gives a distinct character to each plot, giving the resulting blends balance and finesse, a rarity in Napa Valley.
