The Maison
Cheval des Andes
Cheval des Andes draws on Argentinian soil, climate and grapes – and the skill gained from Bordeaux traditions – with the aim of becoming the grand cru of the Andes. Its refined, bold red wines have excellent structure and silky, delicate tannins.

Heritage
A union with vision
On visiting Terrazas de los Andes, Pierre Lurton, president of Château Cheval Blanc, was captivated by the quality of the malbec. From his vision to connect the French and Argentinian winemaking worlds, the world-class Cheval des Andes was born.

Uniquely beneficial
The high-altitude vineyards in Las Compuertas, Mendoza, have sandy-loam soil that drains well and encourages durable, long-living vines – the oldest of which are malbec stock, planted in 1929. Pure melt water works its way down from the mountains, keeping the soil fertile.

Winemaking
The art of assemblage
The first to apply the legendary Bordeaux art of assemblage, or blending technique, to the high-altitude terroir of Mendoza, Cheval des Andes’ winemakers craft subtle, elegant and distinctive wines with exceptional potential for ageing.
