Château d’Esclans produces pale-coloured Provence AOC rosé wines with great concentration and flavour, using mostly old vine grenache. Other grapes grown across the maison’s 183 acres of Mediterranean vineyards include vermentino, cinsault, merlot, mourvèdre, syrah, and tibouren.
Located on an elevated plot 25 km northwest of the ancient Roman city of Frejus on the Mediterranean coast, the château’s cellar dates back to before the 12th century and is thought to be the oldest in the region. Today it is crowned by a stunning Tuscan-style villa.
Château d’Esclans is committed to making its rosé wines with the highest-quality grapes. In addition to manual harvesting, sorting and blending, it has formed strong relationships with local growers to bring in the best fruit from Var and the surrounding local vineyards.
