Details
Aged in-bottle and fiercely guarded in the depths of the maison's chalk cellars, Veuve Clicquot Cave Privée Rosé 1989 is a generous rosé champagne with silky acidity and fine structure.
Tricky weather conditions – a severe cold spell with spring frosts – threatened the vineyards at the start of the year, but the crops survived to produce grapes of near-perfect quality.

AN ENTICING NOSE AND INTENSE PALATE

Delicate pink.

Notes of mocha and cocoa on the nose, developing to aromas of pastry after time in the glass.

An explosion of wild fruits hits first, followed by citrus and candied figs with a marked acidity.

BLEND & ORIGIN CHAMPAGNE

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé 1989

Two-thirds pinot noir (67%) from Montagne de Reims and Grand Vallée de la Marne and one-third chardonnay (33%) from Côtes de Blancs, this blend has an additional (12.8%) still pinot noir from Bouzy.

While cold weather initially threatened the vines, which had budded early, 1989 marked the return of hot, dry vintages such as 1945, 1959 and 1964.
