Clos19 offers an English gin from Suffolk and an African one from Kenya. Fishers Gin boasts coastal botanicals and a bottle design that references its rural origins. Procera, meanwhile, is the first gin in the world made with fresh African juniper berries – native only to the highlands of Kenya and Ethiopia – and the stunning bottle is hand-blown in Nairobi.
Fishers London Dry Gin is distilled with botanicals foraged from coastal paths and salt marshes around Aldeburgh, Suffolk, creating a gin that is smooth, herbal and saline. Procera is made using undried Juniperus procera berries, which impart an earthy, nutty depth, along with nine other botanicals including Madagascan pink pepper and Moroccan orris root.
In keeping with a London Dry style, all the botanicals used to make Fishers Gin go into the still – roots, seeds, stems and berries are steeped for 24 hours before a final distillation in the copper pot. The fresh, as opposed to dried, African juniper berries used in Procera are sun-drenched and grown at high altitudes, 70km from the distillery in Nairobi, Kenya.
