Heritage
The hallmarks of Hennessy
The secret to cognac is time – Hennessy’s maturation techniques contributed to the foundation of the V.S, V.S.O.P and X.O classifications. The art of selecting, ageing and blending eaux-de-vie has been passed down through seven generations of Hennessy cellar masters.

Terroir
Complex character from ugni blanc
The base of the best cognac eaux-de-vie are white wines made primarily from ugni blanc grapes grown in the finest terroirs in the four crus of Cognac region. The temperate climate and chalky soils are ideal for growing this grape.

Know-how
Years in the making
Cognac is made by double-distilling wine in Charentais copper stills and ageing the resulting eau-de-vie in French oak barrels. The finest vintages are kept in a special cellar, called a paradis – with Hennessy’s the most famous – until they are ready for blending.

Any occasion
The finest cognacs are best enjoyed neat, in a tulip-shaped glass. Some may enjoy cognac with a drop of water or on ice. The diversity of flavours means cognac can be savoured in a variety of ways, as part of a classic champagne cocktail or even a new generation of coffee cocktails.
