Cocktail time

A twist on the Cuban classic with Ardbeg Ten Year Old whisky, the Smokjito is for those who love peaty notes in their drink. Set in the wilderness of the Isle of Islay in western Scotland, the Ardbeg distillery produces one of the best single malts in the world. Ten year-old Ardbeg whisky develops peaty notes as well as a hint of liquorice with age. In the Smokjito, apple juice brings roundness and sweetness to the whisky, with the lime juice and mint adding a perfect kick.

How to make a Smoke-jito step by step

  1. Slap the mint leaves against your hand a few times to release its aromas and place them into a sturdy highball glass
  2. Squeeze the lime juice, then add the simple syrup and muddle everything together
  3. Add ice to fill the glass, then add the Ardbeg
  4. Top up with apple juice and stir well
  5. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint
