Golden straw yellow with green highlights.
On the nose, the tangy intensity of green apple and citrus fruit and the freshness of mineral nuances and white flowers are immediately apparent, while elegant notes of brioche, cereal and fresh nuts are not far behind.
On the palate, there's a generous amount of white fruit, such as pear, peach and apple, an abundance of fine bubbles and the soft vivacity of citrus fruit and gooseberries.
Cellar Master, Moët & Chandon
Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut is a thoughtful assemblage of more than 100 different wines.
It draws on a trio of grape varieties: pinot noir (30-40%) for body, pinot meunier (30-40%) for suppleness, and chardonnay (20-30%) for finesse.
Of the final assemblage, 20-30% is specially selected from reserve wines to enhance the champagne's maturity, complexity and constancy.
Following stainless-steel fermentation to protect again oxidation and preserve the original fruitiness, the wine spends 24 months in the cellars to reach optimum complexity.
Toasted hazelnut and smoke notes are rich and focused in this harmonious version, layered with flavors of pastry, passion fruit pâte de fruit and candied ginger. Fine and creamy, with a mouthwatering finish.

Distinctive, slightly bruised apple scent. Fleshy on the palate. Reassuringly good quality for a leading brand
Jancis Robinson
Worldwide still the biggest-selling Champagne, this well-made wine is ripe and full of fruit. Produced under the direction of chef de cave Benoït Gouez (Wine Enthusiast Winemaker of Year in 2013), it has flavors of almonds and toast, with crisp acidity. The aftertaste brings grapefruit freshness.

Delicate seafood starters are the ideal match for this – try serving it with sushi and sashimi, scallops and oysters.
Continue the theme with poached white fish and subtle white meats – it'll go brilliantly with juicy free-range chicken roasted with leafy herbs.
To enhance the white-fruit flavours of Impérial Brut, serve it with a white peach tart with a white chocolate cream.
