A brilliant light yellow with a fine, jewel-like bead.
The refined, pure, precise bouquet has fruity notes of white peach, lemon, pineapple, green banana and pear, as well as floral, botanical notes of mock orange, herbal tea and honeysuckle. Spicier, sweeter nuances of pepper, brown sugar, marzipan and candied melon round things off.
A graceful palate with a light, airy structure. There are bracing, refreshing notes of rhubarb and grapefruit with a touch of mint, plus mineral overtones and a long, rich finish.
Cellar Master, Moët & Chandon
If you had to describe the harvest of 2004 in just three short words, they would be 'plentiful', 'healthy' and 'ripe'.
It's these three characteristics – the result of an entire season of unusually mild and particularly favourable weather conditions – that have resulted in such a graceful, elegant and sleek vintage.
These near-perfect conditions have also resulted in an artful blend of close to one-third each of the region's three key grapes: chardonnay (38%), pinot noir (33%) and meunier (29%).
An extended period of eight years on the lees has broadened out the texture and added to the wine's complexity.
