TASTING NOTES:
Generous and complex
An intense gold.
Expressive and indulgent, aromas of dried fruit, toasted almonds, hazelnuts, maple syrup, meringue and mandarin come through on the nose.
Aromatic and fresh, with a long finish, notes of nougat, frangipane and tarte tatin are brightened by the sharpness of grapefruit peel.

Cellar Master, Krug

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
KRUG VINTAGE 2006
The 2006 vintage was considered hot and unpredictable in Champagne, with temperatures regularly reaching 30°C.
But there was also rain, and plenty of it.
Just over half of the final selected wines are pinot noir.
The sun shone during the harvest, and the grapes developed a fine balance, similar to that of 2002 and 1989.
Pinot noir (45%), chardonnay (35%) and meunier (20%) make up the blend.

FOOD PAIRING:
Try characterful, aromatic pairings
Pair this vintage with a rich and fragrant chicken tagine with preserved lemons, or perhaps a slow-roasted leg of lamb with a ratatouille-inspired sauce.
