Krug didn't hesitate to declare the 2002 a vintage – after a clement year the grapes arrived at the maison in near-perfect condition. The champagne is vibrant, fruit-forward and delicate.
The vintage was named Ode to Nature as it displays lots of beautiful fruit flavours. Due to its size, the magnum of Vintage 2002 has spent an extra year on the lees and was hand-riddled and labelled. -

Blend and Origin
Krug Vintage 2002
Vintage 2002 balances pinot noir (40%), chardonnay (39%) and meunier (21%). The year was clement, providing ideal conditions for grape maturation, and as grapes arrived at the press they were in excellent and robust health. This bottle spent over 13 years ageing in Krug’s cellars – gaining depth, finesse and elegance – and received its cork in 2015.
