Details
Swapping out an excellent red wine at the dinner table for a rosé champagne might raise a few eyebrows, but this stunning 21ème Édition from Krug is not like anything you've tried before.
Combining elegant fruit and spicy notes with an extraordinary structure, it's a delicate blend of wines from 2008 and from selected plots of Krug's vast reserve library. Completed with traditionally macerated pinot noir, which adds that structure and spice, it's at its best served with savoury food.

BLEND & ORIGIN CHAMPAGNE

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Krug Rosé 21ème Édition

Krug Rosé 21ème Édition is composed around the harvest of 2008, when extreme weather defied all predictions. A mild winter, cloudy spring and cool summer slowed things down in the vineyards, while a major hail storm hit Sainte-Gemme, a village known for its meunier plots.

The final assemblage, which comprises 51% pinot noir, 41% chardonnay and just 8% meunier, is a masterful blend of 57 wines from six different years – the youngest being 2008 and the oldest 2002.

Traditionally macerated pinot noir from plots in Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ makes up 10% of the blend, which gives this champagne its beautiful colour, structure and delicious spicy notes.

A stay of at least seven years in Krug's cellars gives this release its unique expression and elegance.
