The art of blending wines from many different years gives Krug Grande Cuvée a unique fullness of flavours and aromas – characteristics that, the maison explains, are impossible to express with the wines of just a single year.
With this distinct 170ème Édition, the maison has blended new wines from the year 2014 with reserve wines from its extensive collection, resulting in a unique champagne with a host of flavours and aromas to stir the emotions.

Appearance

A light golden colour and fine, vivacious bubbles.

Aroma

Aromas of flowers in bloom, ripe, dried and citrus fruits, as well as marzipan and gingerbread.

Taste

The palate reveals flavours of almond paste, hazelnuts, nougat, quince, lemon, limoncello and dried fruit.

Krug Grande Cuvée 170ème Edition

The 2014 season was an erratic year for weather in Champagne, oscillating between hot and dry spells and cool, rainy periods.
 

The vines developed well in these conditions and the contrasting weather preserved freshness across the region.
 

Krug Grande Cuvée 170ème Édition is a blend of 195 wines from 12 different years, the youngest from 2014 and the oldest dating back to 1998. Its final composition is 51% pinot noir, 38% chardonnay and 11% meunier.
