TASTING NOTES:
Silky and generous
A light, golden mineral hue.
On the nose, expect lightly toasted aromas as well as notes of citrus, orange madeleine and menthol.
Citrus in all its forms – including grapefruit zest – gives way to ripe and candied citrus flavours and notes of barley sugar with a delightful bitterness.

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Krug Clos du Mesnil 2008
The house of Krug does not release a vintage from Clos du Mesnil every year.
The conditions have to be just right to reveal the plot's full potential, and 2008 didn't disappoint.
The year was one of the region's coolest and least sunny – rainfall was typical throughout the growing season and the summer was dry.
A lack of intense hot peaks meant grape maturation was slow and steady, resulting in excellent grapes and a beautifully structured champagne.

FOOD PAIRING:
A match for seafood and poultry dishes
Clos du Mesnil 2008 pairs beautifully with lighter seafood mains, such as halibut or John Dory in lemon butter or dill and fennel sauce; a fresh seafood platter; and oysters. Or try it alongside roast guinea fowl with herbs.
