Bloody Mary

Watch out! Fire ahead. The Bloody Mary, Queen of all cocktails, brings power and heat to the palate and colour to the table with its vibrant red tones. It looks delicate; innocent, even. But the smooth, velvety texture hides a potent spiciness and tang. Initially conceived as an evening drink, the Bloody Mary has rapidly become the ultimate daytime cocktail. 'It is essentially tomato juice after all,' the most virtuous will say. Yet it's a fact: brunch is not brunch without a (heavily) 'spiced' tomato juice.
