A bottle of Cognac is already a work of art. I felt like I was starting with this heritage, respecting the heritage and then coming up with something that was new within that culture.

150 Years of Hennessy X.O
150 years ago, where it all began
Hennessy X.O first came to life in 1870 at the request of Maurice Hennessy. Émile Fillioux, the master blender, created an intense blend from eaux-de-vie that had been aged at length. This“Extra-Old”cognac was given the name Hennessy X.O. It is the original and the first to bear these famous initials. Its style has remained unchanged since its creation thanks to Hennessy’s master blenders.
The language of movement
Frank Gehry’s work never strays from its quest for movement, in relation to a place and its spirit. His innovative language breaks free from constraints, plays with conventions and sculpts volumes suffused with poetry. Like Hennessy X.O, Frank Gehry's work is a call to the senses.
A sensory work of art
Using his signature sculptural style to reinterpret Hennessy X.O's iconic bottle and inspired by the Charente River and the Cognac soil, Frank Gehry marries gold and glass to extol the rich legacy of the Hennessy Maison in an exclusive, limited run of 150 numbered decanters.
