Light amber with a golden hue
On the nose, there are sophisticated notes of spice and candied orange.
Smooth and generous on the palate, opening with delightful pastry notes of cocoa and sweet spices with a comforting creaminess. Soon after follow notes of light tobacco and candied orange.
Master Blender, Hennessy
The eaux-de-vie chosen for this blend – the youngest of which has spent seven years maturing in French oak barrels – come from 18 families of distillers, located in the four sub-regions of the Cognac appellation that Hennessy uses.
Each distiller selects the wines and works to concentrate and reveal its aromas through a process of double distillation on the lees, which helps develop intense, fruity aromas and a lovely roundness.
Then, Hennessy's Master Blender narrows that selection to those he considers superior in quality – it's this selection process, combined with the long maturing time in cask, that gives the cognac such aromatic complexity.
It's bottled at a higher strength than many Hennessy cognacs, to enable you to better discover the full intensity of the aromas when tasting it on its own.
