TASTING NOTES:
Rich and heady
Bronzed gold
Decadent on the nose, with notes of just-baked brioche, baked apricot, vanilla pudding, toasted almonds and chestnuts, plus hints of chocolate truffles. When a few drops of water are added, there is a burst of candy sweetness, touches of orange syrup, a flinty minerality and a distinctive herbal top note, like sage or basil.
The texture is unctuous and sticky, but with a balancing lemon zestiness. This leads into rich, sweet flavours of vanilla crème anglaise, baked apricots, warm raisins, roasting chestnuts and a mixture of spices, particularly nutmeg and star anise. An oaky backbone lasts throughout the taste, but is always balanced by sweet, fruity and spicy notes.

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Glenmorangie The Nectar 16 Years Old
Using silky smooth, creamy Glenmorangie from ex-bourbon casks, the whisky is then finished in a range of white wine casks, which combine to offer a stunningly sweet taste experience.
Sauternes and monbazillac casks from France contribute the sumptuous pastry, brioche, meringue and baked apple notes.
Moscatel casks from Spain give some cake and sweet, syrupy dessert-like notes, while tokaji casks from Hungary contribute white chocolate, almond and honeycomb flavours to the final blend recipe.
As a finishing touch, the whisky is non-chill filtered to develop additional character and mouthfeel.
