Drinks at Home: 5 Bars Delivering Bottled Cocktails to your Home
To celebrate World Bartender Day, we introduce five brilliant bars offering cocktails for home delivery. Enjoy an expertly mixed cocktail in the comfort of your own living room by ordering from the DrinksatHome platform, to support bartenders and mixologists in London, Manchester and Edinburgh – there’s everything from pre-bottled mixes to ready-to-drink cocktail kits.
Callooh Callay
Since its launch in 2008, Callooh Callay in London’s Shoreditch has made a name for itself on the international cocktail circuit. It has featured in the World’s 50 Best Bars list four times since 2012, and amassed a number of other accolades for its creative yet approachable menus. Each bottled cocktail is made in-house and delivered to your door by a member of the Callooh Callay team. Try the HUG, a combination of Hennessy VS, Monkey Shoulder Scotch, Jägermeister Cold Brew, umeshu, sugar, Peychaud’s Bitters and absinthe – a mix the team calls “warm, soothing and meaningful”.

Ducie Street Warehouse
Located on the edge of Manchester’s northern quarter, Ducie Street Warehouse takes in a cinema, coffee counter, shop, restaurant and a bar where cocktails are always the order of the day. Each pre-bottled cocktail has its own graphic label and comes with a suggested way to enjoy. We like Islay Paradise, a smoky, tropical punch featuring Ardbeg 10 Year Old, carambola and lemongrass cordial, pineapple liqueur, coconut, tiki tea and pimento bitters for a Scotland-meets-the-Caribbean vibe. The team suggest serving After Hours – a tart and fruity mix of Belvedere Vodka, blackberry and black pepper gastrique and bergamot – “straight up once the sun goes down”, while Sazerac Blanc offers an indulgent take on the New Orleans classic, featuring Hennessy VS, cacao blanc, absinthe, chestnut honey, creole bitters and white chocolate, best served with a slice of lemon.

Coupette
At Coupette in London’s Bethnal Green the emphasis is on inventive mixology using classic French ingredients. This extends to their bottled cocktails, including Board Room, a darkly sweet combination of Hennessy VS, Dubonnet, cherry Heering liqueur, Mr Black coffee liqueur and walnut smoke. Each bottle is sealed with black wax and looks fantastic when displayed on a shelf. While you can’t pull up a pew at their 1920s-inspired bar, you can get a taste of the high life at home.

Mothership
Events and cocktail company Mothership was started by two friends with a passion for delicious and inventive drinks. They now own three bars across Edinburgh; Bramble Bar, Lucky Liquor Co and Last Word Saloon. Order an Ardbeg Maple and Bacon Old Fashioned and you’ll receive a twist on the classic, made using Ardbeg 10 Year Old that has been “tamed” with maple and bitter orange. Mothership bottled drinks also include a garnish pack to enhance the at-home experience. Included with their Ardbeg Maple and Bacon Old Fashioned you’ll get crispy bacon, fresh rosemary and orange zest. An Aged Affinity cocktail combines Glenmorangie The Original with vermouth, bitters and Byrrh, an aromatised wine aperitif made of red wine, mistelle, and quinine.

Heads + Tails
Neighbourhood bar Heads + Tails in West Hampstead, London has a small yet perfectly formed menu to see you through lockdown, featuring classics such as Negronis and Cosmopolitans produced in small batches using premium ingredients. The Espresso Martini is made with Belvedere Vodka, coffee liqueur, cold brew coffee and a simple syrup for a smooth and time-perfected recipe that you can enjoy over several servings.
