Blend and Origin
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2008
The summer of 2008 was characterised by grey days and a yearning for sun in Champagne. But just as harvest began in September, blue skies finally arrived, to bring the vintage to its best. To capitalise on such perfect conditions, picking was spread out for as long as possible. The result was Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes of outstanding balance – riper than anyone dared hope.
This product can only be purchased by persons over 18 years of age.

With every vintage, Dom Pérignon expresses its signature style through the individuality of a single year. And for decades, Cellar Master Richard Geoffroy has championed its quest to create “always a vintage wine”. Soon, Vincent Chaperon, who has been at his side since 2005, will take on that mantle. Dom Pérignon marks this seminal moment with Vintage 2008 Continuum. This exemplary vintage reflects the very best of both winemakers – and the House’s enduring commitment to its vision.

Richard’s own legacy at Dom Pérignon speaks for itself. Between 1990 and 2009, he declared no fewer than 15 vintages in its cellars. He has been endlessly inventive, exploring new aspects of Dom Pérignon’s personality and daring to take risks on his mission to bring the grapes to their utmost ripeness. Alongside him for 13 harvests and four vintages, Vincent brings to the House his own audacious intuition and a passion for progress.

Working so closely together these 13 years past, each man has inspired and influenced the other, so that they think almost as one. Vintage 2008 Continuum is a symbol of the ambition they share for Dom Pérignon. This remarkable wine was created from the astounding harvest of 2008, saved late in the day by a gloriously sunny September. Pure and toned, with incredible balance between nose and palate, it is the culmination of their two extraordinary talents and nature.
Food pairing:
Play with contrast... and try it with Thai
Starter
Begin with fresh oysters, and a garnish of Thai basil, or make a Thai-spiced salad that will amplify and accentuate this wine’s effervescence.
Main
Experiment with the duality of mineral notes and fresh fruit, in a dish which pairs langoustine with papaya or octopus carpaccio with a citrussy dressing.
