This vibrant, expressive vintage embodies the adventurous spirit which first inspired Te Koko. Made through wild fermentation and aged in old French oak, it showcases this alternative style of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.Cloudy Bay’s winemakers sourced the 2016's grapes from some of the oldest vines in four select vineyards, during one of Marlborough’s driest seasons. Blend and Origin
The wine's Sauvignon Blanc grapes (100%) were grown on some of the oldest vines in four vineyards within Marlborough’s Rapaura and Renwick regions. Their soils particularly suit this grape, yielding intense fruit with powerful structure. Fermented in French oak barrels (8% new) with indigenous yeasts, it rested on fine lees for 15 months, for Te Koko’s unique texture and acid profile.
