BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2019
The season in Marlborough is long and filled with sunshine, which is ideal for early-ripening yet slow-developing pinot noir.
Sunshine bathes the southern Wairau Valley where these grapes are grown, and a mixture of clay and gravel soils help with water and heat retention in this cool, dry region.
During fermentation, the grapes are soaked on their skins for 16 days to extract silky tannins, and aging takes place in French oak for 11 months to add body.
