Details
This is an elegant Argentinian malbec blend made in a Bordeaux style, from grapes grown in the maison's best vineyard parcels. Cheval des Andes 2016 is unusually fresh, with red fruits and a hint of spice on the nose and a precise palate.
Due to the effects of El Niño in South America, 2016 was a challenging year to make a vintage in Mendoza, Argentina. Yet Cheval des Andes has crafted an exceptionally well-balanced wine that shows great promise, a testament to the skill of the winemakers.

BLEND & ORIGIN WINES

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Cheval des Andes 2016

2016 was a challenging year for the Mendoza winemaking region.

El Niño brought excessive rainfall during the spring, and as a result this vintage produced a lower than usual yield.

A warm summer brought the grapes to maturity and after careful selection the wines were fermented in stainless steel to preserve their fruit flavours, then aged for 14 months in French oak (70% new) before bottling.
