Blend and Origin
2000 Château Cheval Blanc, Saint-Emiliion
This vintage – 53% merlot and 47% cabernet franc – benefited from warm, dry weather leading up to the harvest. The winter in 2000 was wet and mild, and the spring temperate but rainy. A dry and warm June was followed by a wet July, after which a long dry spell set in. Rigorous grape selection, expert blending and ageing in 100% new oak resulted in this outstanding wine.
