Product DetailsA stunning expression of the Margaret River region, the 2012 shiraz is fragrant, deep and powerful, retaining the defining characteristics of this grape – fruitiness, spiciness and a floral bouquet. Inspired by the renowned Northern Rhône style of syrah, this shiraz is traditionally fermented and oak-aged to retain its floral notes alongside complex savoury elements.

Blend and Origin
Cape Mentelle Shiraz 2012
The grapes for this 100% shiraz thrived in the deep, sandy loam of the Cape Mentelle vineyards, steadily ripening up to the beginning of the harvest period. Individual batches were fermented on skins before being gently basket-pressed to reach ideal tannin levels. The wine was then matured in large French oak vats and small barriques to retain its refined character.
This product can only be purchased by persons over 18 years of age.
Complements flavourful spiced meats
An indulgent starter of seared Wagyu beef with shaved black truffle will match this shiraz’s intensity.
Tea-smoked duck breast in hoisin sauce, served with wild rice, pak choi and asparagus, makes a fitting accompaniment.
End the meal with a dark chocolate and cherry tart with a quenelle of cardamom-spiced cream.
