Blend and Origin
Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
This is a blend of 91% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot and 1% cabernet franc from some of the oldest vines in the best parcels of the Wallcliffe and Trinders vineyards. Grapes were hand-picked during the perfect 2012 harvest and fermented on skins. The wine was aged for 18 months in French barriques (half new, half one year old) to bring out polished tannins and complexity.
This product can only be purchased by persons over 18 years of age.
Just right for a robust roast dinner
Wagyu beef strip loin with potato terrine will match this wine’s intensity.
Complement the classic character of this red with roasted rack of lamb served with honeyed carrots, rosemary mashed potatoes and a cabernet jus.
A nutty cheese such as Edam is an ideal accompaniment.
