Details
A bold and expressive organic Spanish wine made with 100% tinta de toro grapes. Be prepared for great berry intensity, with smoky notes and aromas of sun-scorched, herb-scented Mediterranean earth.
Grown on vines between 50 and 100 years old, and harvested by hand at optimal ripeness levels, the tempranillo grapes – known by their local name tinta de toro – are macerated, fermented and then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Savour the rich textures and velvet complexity.

Power with a soft strength

Appearance

Ripe cherry colour with ruby reflections.

Aroma

Expressive and deep, with hints of red berries, smoky notes, garrigue aromas and a background of sweet spices.

Taste

The soft, mature tannins match beautifully with a generous and voluminous texture. Black fruit such as blueberries and blackcurrants, notes of violet and hints of black pepper, cloves and a tobacco leaf generate complexity and length, surrounded by a good acidity.

Harvest started a few days later than usual in Toro, Spain after a rainy spring and summer that kept temperatures cool and the ripening process steady.
 

A long, careful maceration and fermentation followed, with extended time on skins to extract maximum tannin, flavour and colour.
 

After some time in stainless steel tanks, the wine was aged in 60% new and 40% second-use French oak barrels.
