From the Toro region of Spain and made entirely from organic tinta de toro (tempranillo) grapes, it's a great wine to serve with food. You can enjoy it right now or, to further concentrate the flavours, aromas and complexity, pop it in the cellar for another five to 10 years.

Appearance

Ripe cherry colour with ruby reflections.

Aroma

Highly aromatic on the nose, where you'll find elegant, fresh and deep aromas of red berries, cocoa and sweet spices against a floral background.

Taste

Ripe fruit flavours of blueberries and blackcurrants merge with warming notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. There's a hint of rosemary and graphite on the finish, making it long and complex with good acidity.

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Bodega Numanthia Numanthia 2018

Made from 100% organic tinta de toro – or tempranillo – grapes grown on low-yielding, non-irrigated vines aged between 50 and 120 years.
 

The year 2018 in the region was characterised by a rainy spring followed by a dry and hot summer, resulting in a mid-September harvest.
 

A long, careful maceration and fermentation followed, with extended time on skins to extract maximum tannin, flavour and colour.

 

After some time in stainless steel tanks, the wine spent 16 months in 60% new and 40% second-use French oak barrels before being bottled in July 2020.
