Details
If you're an admirer of powerful red wines that are both rich and intense yet maintain a fresh finish, then this 2017 vintage of Bodega Numanthia's signature wine should be on your radar.
From the Toro region of Spain and made entirely from organic tinta de toro (or tempranillo) grapes, it stands out for its unique balance, elegance and power. Aged for 18 months in a mix of new and second-use French oak barrels, it's a wine with excellent ageing potential – enjoy it right now or at any time over the coming 20 years.

BLEND & ORIGIN WINES

BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Bodega Numanthia Numanthia 2017

Made from 100% fully ripened, organic tinta de toro grapes from low-yielding, non-irrigated vines aged between 50 and 120 years, this fruit-forward vintage is a reflection of the weather conditions of the Toro region in 2017.

During the first half of the ripening period, violent thunderstorms replenished the underground water reserves resulting in earlier-than-usual ripening and concentrated grapes.

These grapes, harvested by hand from more than 100 parcels, were also sorted by hand at optimal ripeness.

After maceration, fermentation and some time spent in stainless steel tanks, the wine was aged for 18 months in a mix of 60% new and 40% second-use French oak barrels before being bottled in July 2019.
