5 Festive Champagne Experiences in London This Winter: Part Two

Enjoy five of the best festive experiences in London this winter – from ice skating followed by a glass of champagne to creative cocktails in hidden bars and a special opportunity from Krug, these are the events not to miss.

1. Skate at Somerset House with Moët & Chandon

A perennially popular event during winter in London, Skate at Somerset House heralds the start of the festive season and is made even more dazzling this year thanks to a partnership with Moët & Chandon. From 17 November until 16 January, the magnificent ice rink transforms Somerset House’s neoclassical courtyard into a winter wonderland complete with a 40-foot-tall Christmas tree and curated decorations from Moët & Chandon. There are plenty of memorable moments to be had with family and loved ones, all accompanied by a glass of celebratory champagne. Adult tickets start from £11.00 plus a one-off transaction fee per order.

2. Ring in the New Year at Disrepute with Belvedere

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a big way at Soho’s Disrepute, a sleek hidden basement bar tucked underneath Kingly Court near Carnaby Street. For one night only, sink into a velvet lounge chair to sample the expertly curated drinks menu, where Belvedere cocktails tell the tale of Soho’s heyday with unexpected ingredients and twists on classics. Once the lights go down, the party gets started, with live music into the early hours of 2022.

From 1-31 December, Coupette in Bethnal Green, Heads + Tails in West Hampstead and Disrepute in Soho will each offer a unique Moët & Chandon cocktail to those quick enough to book a table. The only tricky part is to decide which one you’ll visit first.

5. Savour Exclusive Krug Recipes at Ham Yard Restaurant

Each year the House of Krug celebrates its playful tribute to individuality through Krug Single Ingredient. The maison selects a number of world-class chefs to create dishes based on one culinary element, and this year it’s the turn of the humble onion. Visit Ham Yard Bar & Restaurant throughout December to experience a very special Krug X Onion pairing – Roscoff Onion Tarte Tatin. Served with a glass of Krug Grande Cuvée 169ème Edition, this is a special opportunity to taste history and experience the interplay of the caramelised pastry notes of the champagne with the sweet-savoury flavours of the slow-cooked onion tart. It is a match made in heaven.
