    Despite a challenging start weather wise, the summer of 2012 offered plenty of sunshine and warmth that helped the pinot noir (90%) and chardonnay (10%) reach maturity and balance, like those in 1989 and 2002. It has a blend of grapes from some of Champagne's most prestigious grands crus vineyards, including Aÿ, Verzenary, Verzy, Ambonnay and Bouzy.

Fighters, pioneers, entrepreneurs, modern women, writers – these facets are united in the optimism and creative power of the flower, an artwork created by a grande dame of art in tribute to a grande dame of champagne.

The story began in 2006 when Yayoi Kusama used her distinctive polka dot pattern to reimagine a classic painting of Madame Clicquot for a charity auction in Tokyo. Entitled Twist with Madame Clicquot!, it inspired a collaboration between Veuve Clicquot, an iconic champagne maison founded by a determined and successful woman, and Kusama, a world-renowned female artist.

The flower on the gift box is decorated in playful colours, while inside, the label of La Grande Dame has been reimagined with Kusama's distinctive polka dots, to symbolize the vibrant sparkle of champagne bubbles.
