Product Details
Smooth as the sands, yet rugged as the rocks which inspire its existence, Ardbeg Traigh Bhan (pronounced ‘tri-van’) is a deliciously rare 19-year-old, small-batch bottling from Ardbeg, the world’s smokiest, peatiest Islay malt whisky.
It is named after Islay’s Traigh Bhan beach, whose ‘singing’ sands hide jagged rocks. And like that captivating spot, this single malt is full of the unexpected – smooth aromas drawing you in, until Ardbeg’s peaty power breaks the surface.

Naturally, the whisky’s taste will alter ever so slightly between each batch, upping the intrigue of this ever-changing dram. Non chill-filtered for ultimate mouthfeel, depth and body.

ARDBEG WITH AN UNDERCURRENT

For more than 200 years, Ardbeg ‘s whisky has been inspired by the untamed beauty of Islay, the Distillery’s remote Scottish island home. And with this small-batch release, the world’s smokiest, peatiest Islay malt whisky takes its lead from a particularly captivating spot – Traigh Bhan beach. Known on Islay as the Singing Sands, this cove has many contrasts. Just like its namesake, Ardbeg Traigh Bhan is both beguilingly smooth, and surprisingly rugged.

Take a trip down to Traigh Bhan, round the coast from the Ardbeg’s Distillery, and you’ll find a mesmerising place with soft, white sands which sing beneath your feet. It’s an enchanting, natural phenomenon caused by the wind passing over the dunes, or even by walking through them. But although this cove might seem the perfect spot for a swim, bathing is a dangerous game. For jagged, volcanic rocks pierce its crystal waters, all along the shore.

Aged for 19 years, Ardbeg Traigh Bhan reflects all the beach’s contradictions. Like those gently singing sands, the single malt draws you in, with alluringly smooth aromas. Then, like the rocks, sudden, intensely rugged flavour notes burst through, until its taste surges in a wave of salt and smoke, sweet and sour. Produced in a single batch every year, each promising subtle differences in flavour, this whisky is sure to become a collector’s favourite.
